Having completed a degree in automotive engineering, I started my professional career as a graduate at Atkins cutting my teeth on various motorway communications schemes. Since returning from a travelling sabbatical in 2013, I have been mainly site-based working on highways major projects either in a technology implementation or value engineering-based role. I have been with 4way since 2018.
I enjoy the cut-and-thrust of working on site-based projects, which present different engineering challenges from day-day that require a timely resolution. No two days are ever the same and such environments provide a good opportunity to work as a team and get to know the wider community of stakeholders. Through these experiences I have learnt a great deal and am now better placed to apply some of these practical lessons to future schemes early in the design phase.
Most of my spare time is spent with my young family; however, I’m a keen motorsport enthusiast and enjoy running and swimming in an attempt to stave off the middle-age spread.
